I guess it was a children movie afterall... no blood, extra mild violence and stuffs... I wonder bout the novel... i think i'm gonna look for one here
Timeline:(6/10)
STRAIGHT LIKE... LIKe... LIke... Like... like... like what yeah? dunno... just sth straight so that children won't get confused i think
Visual Effects:(9/10)
Don't see that many graphical effects ini here... but the drawings for the mythical creatures are great! That earns an extra point for me... and the gryphons are way cool.
Sound Effects:(6/10)
nothing special... prolly the cinema where i watched the movie is a little it crappy... watched 2 movies there and the sounds failed in between the movies... ARGH!
Soundtrack:(--/10)
haven't found one yet... prolly's gonna be out here sometime soon.
Settings:
err i guess it's complicated too cause the time for the fantasy world is literally unknown... but our characters came from the real world and it was when british were attacked by germans i think... (then it should be around WWI/II right?)
Comments:
watch it once... not twice... i'll get extremely boring... and if you are still like a child (like myself) you'll find yourself in tears :p
Overall:(7.5/10)
worth while... cool creatures... no action... great story... just watch em you'll see

Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Cast:

Milla Jovovic - Alice (the same appearance as the 1st RE)

Sienna Guillory - Jill Valentine (and you think Lara Croft is hot... here's my heroine)... she played in Love Actually (I forgot which one she was tho...) and she's a blonde Brit

Oded Fehr - Carlos Olivera

Story:
Almost exactly like RE3 on consoles... the plot is almost the same tho... the timeline and everything... but each scenes leap too fast that you cannot really think about what just happened and how... but if you played the game, tis movie is not so bad compared to the 1st one... Although I prefered not to play the game... cause then I won't have expectation and be satisfied with this movie... and Jill... DAMN! She's HOT!
anyway the story is about the Raccoon City that were attacked by the escaping zombies from the secret underground bio-weapon development (T-virus) of Umbrella Corporation, The Hive. The city is immediately sieged and blocked by Umbrella itself and some citizens are not allowed to escape the perimeter after the infection of the zombie reaches the border. Our hero from the 1st RE, Alice woke up in a hospital in Raccoon City (the ending scene of the 1st RE). She felt something different in herself... she feels stronger... our second hero, Jill Valentine (WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!) is an agent of S.T.A.R.S (a special forces like S.W.A.T.) and the only survivor of the Raccoon Mansion incident at the Umbrella hidden facility. Alice who was a survivor from the Hive incident, was captured with the other survivor Matt after they escaped the Hive. However, Matt was infected with a deadly T-Virus and his whereabout is unknown. Meanwhile at the city, S.T.A.R.S team who were fighting the zombies were cornered. Carlos Olivera, and some of his friends have succesfully escaped the zombies and they journeyed to find the exit from the city. Phew... the story is just too large to be contained in a 120 minutes movie... I still think this movie should be 3 hours long... just watch the movie... the story is amazing if you saw the 1st RE.

Visual Effects:
Standard

Sound Effects:
Awesome... Dolby 5.1 surely works...

Soundtrack:
ROCK YOUR FUKIN MIND!

Settings:
Raccoon City, sometimes between 2001-2002... most of the movie is a one day story except a few flashback and the fast forwarded ending

Comments:
Great sequel... hot Jill :p and cool Nemesis

Overall: 9/10 cause it was a great thriller sci-fi action movie :)

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

Cast:

Jude Law - Sky Captain a.k.a Captain Joseph Sullivan

Gwyneth Paltrow - Polly Perkins

Angelina Jolie - Franky a.k.a Captain Francesca Cook

Giovanni Ribisi - Dex a.k.a Dex Dearborn

Story:
About before the World War I, a German genius, Totenkopf, had forced 7 scientists from all over the world to work with him developing an ultimate weapon made for the Doom's Day. Totenkopf finished his education at the age of 12 and earned his doctoral degree at the age of 17. At the age of 18 he is missing, some rumoured him working in a secret science facility called Einheit Elf or Unit Eleven. But the 7 scientists working for him had escaped... until about 1930's one by one of the 7 scientists were missing again... Polly Perkins, a New York Courier journalist was contacted by the last doctor to be captured, dr. Walter Jennings. The doctor mentioned Totenkopf plan of the Ultimate weapon. Polly found a blue print of a certain machine left by the doctor... which happened to be the machines attacking the New York city precisely at the moment Polly left dr. Jennings. The machines are rampaging the city and had found the underground electric generator of the city. After the local police had found that the machines were immune to their weaponry, they called the Sky Captain in desperation... what are these machines? what is Totenkopf's intention? can Sky Captain save New York City and Polly?

Timeline:
Straight ahead

Visual Effects:
Explosions, fire, rockets, flying airbase and lotsa stuff you'd be thrilled to see

Sound Effects:
Cool! all the shooting, lasers, the explosions and all stuff are perfect

Soundtrack:
I found some nice one... I'll look up some more

Settings:
1938 - New York, Nepal about the Industrial Revolution cause you can see old cars and the messaging used are mostly Morse code. But there's a little twist cause you can find lasers, boosters, amphibious aircrafts and automated turrets, and crazy Al-Bhed's machinas or outrageous machines

Comments:
I've been expecting some from the Sky Cap'n and he showed em all to me... And some unexpectation about the technology at that age... but if you already saw the movie then you'd agree with me that Angelina Jolie should've played more scenes

Overall: 7/10
Still a movie to watch... cause Sky Captain is one story I've heard before this movie... I think it's either a novel or a comic story or even a movie before. You find lotsa jokes inside packed with full-action and plot twists in the story. But you might find the story is somewhat miscplaced... cause you have a Zeppelin docking at the Empire State Building... and amphibious aircrafts... and the movie was made in sepia-toned scenes... maybe Kerry Conran (director) wanted to show how 30's this movie is... then the Sci-fi is somewhat misplaced for technology of that age... Even though the cap'n still have the ol' German 6-bullet revolver, Dex have surprisingly developed a laser gun able to make a hole at a solid thick metal and so does Totenkopf as found in the horrific machines... yeah the machines are way to advanced... you found mechaniloids of birds, gundam-like robots and workers-bee-like peon robots with hover technology... BUT! this is still a movie to watch cause it's a sci-fi thriller action adventure genre movie ;)

The Incredibles - Disney & Pixar

Voice Cast:

Craig T. Nelson - Mr. Incredible a.k.a Bob Parr

Holly Hunter - Elastigirl a.k.a Helen Parr

Samuel L. Jackson - Frozone a.k.a Lucius Best

Story:
Aside from me being a cartoon-maniac, cartoons from Disney and Pixar never ceased to amaze me... after Nemo, the Incredibles is/are surely a movie to watch. The story is around the world of where superheroes existed to battle the bad, and serve the society. Until at one time, Mr. Incredible, as one of the heroes serving the society, were sued by a man he had saved from suicidal jump from a skyscraper building. Mr. Incredible has taken his right to death and caused him a neck injury. Then the superheroes are forced to live their normal life and is prohibited from performing any superheroes activity. Then the story began... Mr. Incredible a.k.a Bob Parr were marrying another superhero Elastigirl a.k.a Helen Parr... they have two children Violet and Dashiell. As expected both children possess superpower inherited from their parents. Vi - short of Violet - is granted invicibility and the power to emit a magnetic force-field while Dash - nick for Dashiell - is as fast as the name might stands. But as they are forced to live in a world that no longet accept Superheroes, both child are forced to act as normal as possible, with Dash prohibited from entering the running competition and Vi being a shy girl who always hide herself. However, the normal life of Mr. Incredible in an insurance company must come to an end when he throw his boss through office's walls. Just when he wanted so bad to be a superhero, a mysterious agent contacted him to perform his superpower ability. Nevertheless he accepted the job... but who is the mysterious agent? why Mr. Incredible? how will the family survive as a normal family amidst from possessing superpower... find it out yourself!

Timeline:
As straight as line.

Visual Effects:
Amazing effects for a cartoon tho... you will see how the animation works prevail Nemo's quality.

Sound Effects:
Nice standard one... you'd find it precisely accurate for an action cartoon.

Soundtrack:
You'd love the soundtrack. I'm looking forward for the soundtrack album. It's so superhero ;)

Settings:
I forgot where in the world this cartoon is located. But the technology and the houses are still standard amidst from the villain's fortress...

Comments:
You'd love this movie and watch it over and over again just like Nemo... Don't miss this movie... an action comedy cartoon... a Must Watch!

Overall: (9/10)
This movie can surpass Nemo in term of Technical Quality. The story is as interesting as ever... but time will prove is this cartoon will boom further than Nemo. Expect the incredible from the Incredibles.

Ladder 49 - Touchstone Pictures

Cast:

Joaquin Phoenix (Gladiator - He was my favorite)- "Jack Morrison"

John Travolta (a lot... but Face/Off is I like most)- "Cap'n Mike Kennedy"

Jacinda Barret (never saw her before) - "Linda Morrison"

Robert Patrick (umm I recognize him instantly - Terminator 2: T-1000 the mercury-made-baddie) - "Leonard Ritcher"

I don't recognize the rest...

Timeline:
Mainstream Flashback
The first scene is Jack's last rescue. After he fell from the 12th floor, the scene changes to his first day at Engine 33, his first duty at firefight house. Characters introductions and then his first fire. Then the scene switched back to the first scene and now Cap'n Mike Kennedy, who has became the Deputy Officer, came to organize to save Jack... etc and the timeline just jump between the "current" scene and the life of Jack Morrison as a firefighter, as a best friend, as a father and husband, and as a hero at the final scene.

This story is very moving yet with sufficient outline details such as the scenes of Jack's most important moment: First Day, First Fire, Meeting the one, Knowing his friends as families at the Firefight house, Marriage, Children, Family worries his dangerous job as one of his bestfriend Killed in Action and one of his buddies got injured by hot steam, then his award for saving a girl at christmas night, and then his last rescue operation. A lot of tears are involved... (I'm a crybaby when it came to movies). Stunning effects (not really... I'm just exaggerating). Good Soundtracks. Nice performance... (9/10)

Visual Effects: The flame, the building collapse, the rain, the snow, umm... and I found weird effect at the explosion... it always blow up and aside... never blow down which can instantly kill Jack... :p but that's prolly his luck anyway... (7/10)

Sound Effects: MARVELLOUS... I kept getting thrilled by the explosion, fire and the Digital Theatre System :p (8/10)

Soundtrack: nice... William Ross... good one I must say (8/10)

Setting: at Baltimore... pretty much around 2000 - cause you can see the equipments used, the year at Jack's funeral too (which I slightly missed cause of the tears)

Comments:
Good movie... cause there's no baddie :p but yeah... it was really moving... I wept a lot too... The story of a hero who sacrifice his life to save the others... The bravery and the love shown... really touching... I'd say it's already good as it is... no critics

Overall: (8/10) it's a reasonable score for a mainstream drama with standard effects.
